Big Bubba lives up to his name -- he is larger than all his siblings, except for one -- Big Sister. Like his sister, Bubba is a sweet, happy puppy -- full of energy and excited by life in general. Bubba loves toys, and loves playing with other pups. But even more than that, he loves attention from his humans. He is doing well with house (potty)-training and crate-training, and is quickly learning to sit for a treat. While Sister will go in the crate more willingly, Bubba would rather not comply, but we think it's important for all dogs to learn to spend a little time in the crate without getting anxious. There are many times in life when it's important for a dog to feel comfortable in a crate, such as during travel or an overnight stay in an unfamiliar place. We're also working on teaching him the "off" command and he will need to have that reinforced, because when he's full-grown, you won't want him to be in the habit of jumping up on people.

Big Bubba has been exposed to chickens and guineas, but he has never lived WITH them -- just in close proximity, with a fence between them. If you have a flock of back yard chickens with a coop that has its own chicken yard, Bubba could most likely be trusted NOT to try to break through the fence to get to the chickens. And with work, you could probably teach him to respect the chickens if you allow them to free-range in your yard. But he is young and excitable, and you can't take anything for granted. Primarily, Bubba wants to be a member of your family, not a working dog.

If you are in love with this sweet face (how could you NOT be?!!), please complete the application on our website: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption
