Great Pyrenees / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
All Thelma wants is to love her people, and be loved in return. She lived outside 24/7 for the first year of her life, but then she decided that chickens were fun to play with. After losing a couple of chickens who couldn't survive her "play", Thelma's family surrendered her to us. At first, she enjoyed staying in the pasture with other young dogs and goats. But then she started digging under the fence and going to visit our neighbor, so we brought her to the house. Inside, she has really blossomed. She LOVES being a house dog and is happy spending time in the yard. She no longer tries to dig under the fence because she's close to us, and she knows that no matter how busy we get, if we see her by the door, we'll let her back in the house. She sleeps inside every night and has very good manners in the house. She goes into the crate on her own, though we rarely have a reason to close the door of the crate, so she can come and go at will. Thelma's family said that her mom is a Great Pyrenees, and her dad is an Anatolian Shepherd. But her small size and high energy level make us think that maybe an Aussie snuck in to breed the Pyrenees. Whether her dad is Anatolian or Aussie, Thelma is a beautiful girl who is very sweet and eager to please her humans. Thelma has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, so she is ready to find her forever home.
