Titus has spent his life in the pasture, guarding goats, chickens, and at one point, mini-horses. But he was known to the local animal control in the Oklahoma town where he lived, because the fencing at his home didn't keep him safely confined. After multiple escapes, and his owner paying an impound fee each time to re-claim him, after his last escape, his owner said "That's it. I'm not going to keep doing this." He left Titus at the shelter, and from there, Titus came into Bluebonnet Animal Rescue.  Since moving to Windsong Ranch, we're happy to say that our fencing has kept him safe at home. BUT, Titus escaped from one foster home and one adoptive home, both of whom have 5' tall fencing. It seems that our combination is one that makes him happy, so we're hoping to find an adopter with a similar situation. That is, fencing must be a minimum of 5' tall, and preferably 6' tall, there should be a good barn that Titus can access at all times (preferably with a cushy bed inside), and someone must be home most of the time. At Windsong Ranch, Tim works from a home office, and Lynnette divides her time among a home office, work in the barns and pastures, and trips to the vet. It's not that anyone is giving Titus attention all day, but he seems to understand that we are HERE, and even though he could probably go over our 5' tall fencing, he chooses to stay home. We think he appreciates having a job to do, but the fact that he would leave his other home, where there were animals to guard, makes us believe that his PEOPLE are more important to him than his job or any other animals.

We think the ideal home might be someone with 6' tall fencing, some backyard chickens, a stay-at-home parent, and some kids to love Titus. Or maybe a retired couple. There are lots of possibilities. but secure fencing and the assurance of lots of attention are mandatory.

If you think you can give Titus a home that he will not want to leave, please complete the application on our website: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption
