Foster-To-Adopt

Our Foster-To-Adopt program is a great way to see if a dog is right for you before committing to adoption. This program allows you to take an adoptable dog to your home for a trial period to see if the dog is a good fit with your household. The adoption is not finalized and adoption contract is not signed until you agree that you want to adopt the dog. Bluebonnet Animal Rescue Network will take the dog back if you find out that the dog is not a good fit with your family.

The requirements for participation in our Foster-To-Adopt program are the same as for regular adoptions. You must:

Once you are approved to adopt, we will have you sign a Foster-to-Adopt contract. The Foster-to-Adopt contract is a legally binding document that establishes that the dog still belongs to Bluebonnet Animal Rescue Network but makes you the temporary foster home. It also stipulates that if someone else comes along and wants to adopt the dog, you have first right to adopt. You can then take the dog to your home, and if you eventually decide that the dog is a good fit with your family we will have you sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee at that time.
